Objective

LGC Rail Services was appointed by ARC Infrastructure to remove and replace defective rail welds along the Leanora Line to restore track integrity and ensure ongoing rail safety and performance. 

Scope of Works

Our scope included the supply of labour, equipment and materials to remove defective rail welds. This included: 

  • Cutting of rail plugs 8m
  • Cutting of defect welds out of track
  • Replacing rail with 8m plug
  • Welding of the replacement 8m rail plugs
  • Profile grinding of welds
  • Clipping up rail

Project Outcome

The project was completed with a 2-3 month timeframe, delivering a fully restored section of the track with all defective welds removed and replaced. The upgraded rail sections met required safety and performance standards, ensuring improved track reliability and longevity.
