Objective

LGC Rail Services was contracted by NEWest Alliance to support the construction of the new Thornlie-Cockburn Link by supplying labour hire, equipment and materials for the installation of rail signalling assets.

The Thornlie-Cockburn Link is a major METRONET project that connects the Mandurah and Armadale Lines to create Perth’s first east-west rail line connection.

Officially opening in June 2025, the overall project involved the construction of 17.5km of new rail line and two new stations, reducing travel times and making public transport easily accessible for residents in Perth’s south-eastern suburbs.

Scope of Works

Our scope included the supply of labour, equipment and materials to carry out key signalling works along the new rail line.

Project Outcome

The project was successfully delivered over a 12 month period, with all works completed with zero punchlist items, reflecting our team’s experience, capability and quality of work in delivering rail signalling services across Perth’s Public Transport Network.
