Objective

As part of the Metronet Midland Station Upgrade, LGC Rail Services was engaged by MGC Solutions through the Midland Junction Alliance (MJA) to deliver the installation of Rail Signalling assets.

The objective of the project was to support the removal of the arc loop and modernise the signalling system with minimal disruption to network operations.

Scope of Works

Our team supplied all labour, equipment and materials required for the installation of the rail signalling infrastructure.

This included:

  • Installation of pit and pipe
  • Installation of signal footings and signals
  • Installation of Axle counters
  • Installation of ATP TDB’s and Transponders
  • Installation of signalling and fibre cable
  • Installation of location cases including conduit, earthing, bases, concrete aprons, cases and racks.
  • Minor track and civil construction works

Project Outcome

The project was delivered on time and to a high standard, with all rail signalling assets installed and completed within an 8 month timeframe. Integration with existing systems was seamless and all works met required safety and performance standards.
